She received her BSc in Plant Breeding and Genetics and her MPhil and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology. She has published over 30 papers in international peer-reviewed journals in the field of Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, and Bioinformatics. She has been involved in genetic modification of plants, their greenhouse and field testing as well as biosafety studies.
